* Captain America: The First Avenger

I've been waiting for this movie since I saw it's trailer. I was a fan of Captain America ever since childhood days. I can still remember my mom buying me a Captain America costume.

I also collected comics and my priority is of course the Captain America series (After Civil War) when Captain America was assassinated and died.

Anyways me and my brother was able to watch the Captain America flick last Sunday and all I can say is WOW. The movie really suited my expectation, the story, the settings and the cast are all good.

I'm also looking forward to the next Marvel flick which will be shown Summer next year which is The Avengers.

* Resident Evil: After Life

After years of waiting for this movie, finally I was able to watch it. I'm a big fan of the game since Playstation 1 days and also the movie. This time Alice (Milla Jovovich) returns again for Resident Evil: After Life. The movie is also available in 3d version by the way.

The movie as always has tons of zombies infected by the virus but guess what Chris Redfield is featured in this film portrayed by Wentworth Miller also known as Michael Scofield of Prison Break. Chris and sister Claire got together in this sequel after being separated for years. Alice still on her pursuit to destroy Umbrella together with her clones and six months later tried to locate "Arcadia" or the promise land because it was told to be a safe area somewhere in Alaska but no one was there but instead she found Claire. Together Alice and Claire went back to the Los Angeles and found survivors in a prison, there they found Chris Redfield. Zombies were able to go inside through the sewers so Alice and company tried to escape and went to the real "Arcadia" which is a ship. In Arcadia they found a lot of survivors who where supposed to be subjects for experiments for Umbrella. There they found Albert Wesker and beats him. Wesker tried to escape and tried to detonate Arcadia but Alice however transferred the bomb in Wesker's jet. Alice and company where able to free the survivors in the end. The movie ends where a lot of Umbrella choppers are on their way to Arcadia and now I don't know what will happen next, still needed to wait for a year or two for the sequel.

* Avatar: The Last Airbender (Movie)

A friend of mine 2 years ago gave me a copy of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender by Nickelodeon. It was nice especially the story and then I saw the trailer of this movie way back and I thought that this is going to be a cool movie especially with M. Night Shyamalan (The Happening and The Sixth Sense) as the writer and the director of the movie. I can say that I was disappointed with the movie and I did expect a lot of great effects with The Last Airbender movie. I even checked the reviews of the movie from other sites and most people who watched it didn't liked the movie compare with the animated series. Good movie for kids but for people who have seen the animated series or movie critics the movie is not that good. Hope there would be more improvements with the next books.

* Inception

I'm really into Sci-Fi movies and this one is of the the best. Directed and written by Christopher Nolan with stars Leonard DiCarpio, Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai), Ellen Page (Kitty Pride from X-Men) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the movie.

Inception is a movie about a thief who enters dreams to get information, architecture of the mind and more. It's has a little action and some twist and turns that made the movie fun to watch. At first I was confused about the movie but as the movie continues I was able to understand the story. Well plotted and definitely a movie I can recommend.

* The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

It was my off and at the same time holiday here in the Philippines because of Noynoy's inauguration a the same time the much awaited movie Eclipse can now be watch in cinemas. As expected there would be a long line, long wait and worst is sold out tickets for the 1st day. I really wanted to watch this movie. Anyways we got our tickets around 4:45pm for the 11pm show so it's really a long wait but better than nothing.

This part of the Twilight saga tells how Victoria created an army of new born vampires to have her revenge for the Cullens and Bella. With all of the Twilight movies so far I like this one because it has more action specially the part where the Wolves and the Cullens unite to fight the new born Vampires and at the same time more werewolf members this time that includes Lia and Seth Clearwater. Enough of the spoilers of course reading the book would provide complete details of the story but the movie still made us see or visualizes what happened in the book. For me it was a good movie and looking forward for the next one.

* Bigger Stronger Faster [movie]

Ever since the New Moon movie was shown almost every gym rat is talking about the steroids issue about Taylor (Jacob Black), a friend who also lift weights in the same gym where I life weights told me to watch this movie. SOme people in the gym as well are into steroids nowadays but not me.

I just recently watched this movie about Steroids, a documentary about the illegal substance or drug called steroids used by body builders, athletes and by other people for a different purpose. I was shocked and learned a lot after watching the movie. Stars like Hulk Hogan, Sly Stallone, Athletes and Arnold admitted they took steroids. This movie shows as well that some supplements are not "that" effective like Hydroxycut because the endorsers are also Roids users. This is a good documentary and also a life story of a family and how Steroids affected and changed their lives.

* Did Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) used steroids or not?

After seeing the trailer and watching the movie Twilight: New Moon, me and my friends who saw the movie are thinking if Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) is all natural or if he is using Steroids.

Last year the movie Twilight was shown and everyone saw how Taylor Lautner looked at that movie, he looks like a kid during that time and he was 16 that time after a year (now he's 17) he really looks big and different with his muscled body. Since me and some friends are working out in the gym for more than a year now, we tried to search for his workout, diet, supplements used or an interview and here what we found

Lautner trained for nine months before the movie and he is also a Black Belter in Karate so it helped him alot especially with his core (abs). Lautner doesn't give away many details about his workout during interviews. He says "I ate a lot of food and worked out".

But according to the site if ever Lautner didn't make it (getting a muscled body that would fit Jacob Black's description in the book) before the filming of the movie, he will be cut and be replaced for the role of Jacob Black. Jacob Black is one of the major characters in the movie and in the Twilight series. What we thought is he needed to make a choice which is "to be cut? or to get the role?". At the same time it's his career especially that everyone is into Twilight and awaits for the sequel of the first movie. People, Models and athletes won't admit it if they are using the illegal drug or steroids because it's prohibited but they have no choice, there's alot who is proven and is positive for using the illegal drug whom at first denying that they are using it. Well anyways it's up to the people to judge and decide :)

But in any case I can say I like Twilight and I wanted to have a body like Taylor has LOL :)

* Twilight: New Moon

/ 11.20.2009 Alabang Town Center /

Twilight: New Moon

It's was Movie Night Friday's for GE Money Servicing Philippines employees at Alabang Town Center and the film is the much awaited sequel for Twilight. This time the movie is not for everyone, employees will only be given a ticket if they got an EE performance (Exceeding Expectations) last October and too bad I wasn't able to meet that rating. I was happy that a wavemate (Ces) of mine gaved me an extra ticket of her and I can say I was happy because of course it's free. After work I skipped my workout at the gym and went straight home. I arrived at ATC around 5:00pm and line is very long for the regular cinemas especially for Twilight. One of the cinemas was rented by the company for us employees and they also gaved everyone a free drink and popcorn.

From the book by Stephenie Meyer the movie for is me nice and the cast of the movie are still the same and some additions of new characters like the Wolves and the other Vampires. I liked it compare than the first movie adoptation and with the book itself, but of course the book would provide the complete details. For me the book was kinda boring in the four books of the Twilight Series but this movie really changed it. Most the scenes in the movie is what I visualize when I am reading the book. I also like the transformation scenes of the werewolves and it's cool. Another thing that I can say is that this movie inspired me to go to the gym more often haha because of the shirtless Wolf boys (Jacob and the others). I do recommend the movie but it's kinda cheesy haha too many girls and gays (haha) in the cinema are screaming during the cheesy moments and everytime Jacob Black is showing his buffed and muscled body.

* Year One (2009)

After almost 18 years I watched a movie in a big screen twice in a day, last time I did that was with my mom when I was 7, we watched Suburban Commando (Hulk Hogan) and Beauty and the Beast in Robinson's Galeria. Yesterday we watched Up and Year One.

I love watching Jack Black's movie because it was really really funny, I also enjoyed this movie it was really really funny specially the dumb moments and the characters. Of course I recommend this movie but it's not for kids because of the mature language used.

Zed (Jack Black) is a hunter and Oh (Michael Cera) is a gatherer. After being informed that Zed ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the shaman banishes him from the tribe. Oh decides to go with Zed on his journey to find the end of the Earth. Together they journey and meet people and most are from the bible. In the movie it would show their journey and how they saved the people.

* Disney's Up (2009)

The film centers around a grumpy old man named Carl Fredricksen and an overeager Wilderness Explorer named Russell who fly to South America in a floating house suspended from helium balloons. The movie showed their adventures and struggles on their way to South America.

Since I saw the trailer of this movie, I told myself that I would watch it. I am not a fan or into 3-D films of movies for kids like these but I can say I was excited to watch it. Finally when I've heard that it's already showing in the cinemas I said that I would watch this movie on my restday. As per wikipedia the movie got positive feedback's which I agree and the movie has some sad parts but the movie is great and there's alot of things that would be learned especially for kids. Movie is hilarous and full of adventure

* District 9 (2009)

I've heard alot of from my friends that the movie District 9 is good, the orignal plan was to watch Disney's Up but we have decided to watch District 9 instead. Since I saw the trailer of this movie I was really excited to watch for it. The trailer gaved me goosebumps seeing the big alien ship above the city. I can say as well that I'm really inro Alien films because it's really interesting and also the documentaries about it, if I will be asked if Aliens exists well my answer will be yes lolz.

Anyways watched the movie in Promenade in Greenhills, my first time to watch a movie there and I can say I liked it. Seats are very soft and comfortable I wanted to sleep after seating on it. I research a little about the movie and it was a South African film directed by Neil Blomkamp. The film stars are Sharito Copley (Wilkus van de Merwe), Jason Cope and Robert Hobbs. I found the movie amazing because of the story and the effects, it's like a documentary because they interview people about the event and some web cam footage. It was really amazing because in the movie it showed that Aliens lived here on Earth and they can communicate with us. MNU an organization who is assigned to relocate the aliens or called prawns from District 9 to District 10 because people are complaining about it and Wilkus (Copley) is the one who is assigned to lead it but during the relocation operation he got exposed to a black liquid created by one of the aliens which is going to be the fuel of a ship that made Wilkus became an alien as well but in the story he did not became an alien right away and he run and spend effort because he wanted to be a human again in which one alien (Christopher) told him, that the alien can help him but he needed to get to the mothership first. Movie is filed with blood, violence, gore and some nasty stuff but I found it cool. Just watch the movie, reviews are great and I definitely recommend it.

* Kamen Rider "The First"

I was really a sentai fan and mostly the sentai groups like shinkenger, dekaranger and more. My youngest brother is the one who is really into Kamen Rider. He's is downloading the episodes and movies just like what I do with my sentai stuff. I was really not into kamen rider before, I can still recall when I was a kid I love watching Masked Rider Black in channel 13 and 5. I had my first kamen rider toy when I was in 2nd year highschool but had my first bioman toy when I was 7 years old. Anyways recently I started watching Kamen Rider series and started to buy toys as well, I bought a Kamen Rider kiva Vinyl.
Well my blog is about the first Kamen Rider I've watched and I can say I liked it and recommends it. The film star is Masaya Kikawada as the main character Takeshi Hongo. First saw Masaya Kikawada in Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon as the turtle guy. Thru research the movie was shown december 2005 and saw it after 4 years lolz.

The movie is about Takeshi being being kidnapped by the group Shocker (Sacred Hegemony Of Cycle Kindred Evolutional Realm) and turning him into an inhumanoid (kamen rider) gaved him the nickname "Hopper" he gained super strength and has a mission to do and that is to kill all those who have seen's Shocker's Inhumanoid soldiers. However her remembered he was human and has forgotten his mission, he was called traitor because he doesn't want to follow the orders from Shocker instead he fought them. Shocker sent inhumanoids to finish him off and created a new inhumanoid (Hassei Takano) Hayato Ichimonji another hopper to finish him but in the end became his friend and ally to save the girl that they liked.

I can say the story of this Kamen Rider movie is really good, what I liked it they fight without their helmets

* G.I. Joe Rise of the Cobra

I've heard from some my friends that the movie is not that good and the effects so I was thinking if I should go and watch the movie, but since I was a fan of american cartoons and since I was a kid I was playing G.I. Joe toys and watching the cartoons so I've decided to watch the flick. Watched it at Glorietta 4 and last full show.

I can say the movie is nice, I was really into it..I liked the twist in the movie, the effects and the action as well. Although I don't like the costume of snake eyes and the movie didn't show how he became like that I still enjoyed the movie. I'm sure there would be a part 2 and I'll be waiting for it.

* The Proposal (2009)

I can say I'm not really into chick-flick movies but I've heard that the movie "The Proposal" was nice. I was able to watch it yesterday at SM Mall of Asia and I I liked it. Movie was about Margaret (Sandra Bullock) a Book editor facing deportation so she declared that she and her assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds) who aspires to be an editor someday is getting married. It was a nice movie and found it sweet, showed family values and lessons about a relationship. Sandra and Ryan showed good chemistry in this movie and I do recommend it.

* Valkyrie

I'm seeing the trailer of this movie way back and finally it is now showing in the local cinemas. The movie is about World War II, I can say I'm not usually into war films but I liked this one. A true to life story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg portrayed by Tom Cruise who was the mastermind behind the elaborate plot known as Project Valkyrie: a plan to assassinate Hitler and overthrow his government from the inside. The story shows how he planned everything and how he decided to kill Hitler himself. He joined the resistance movement and believes that they can change Germany without Hitler. No spoilers but the movie was really good, Two thumbs up for me.

* 7 Pounds - Will Smith

It was our monthsary and me and my girlfriend decided to watch a movie on this day. We went to Alabang Town Center hoping that Valkyrie*Tom Cruise* is already showing too bad it's not so we just strolled around ATC and ate at Burger King. We decided to transfer to festival mall but still Valkyrie is not yet available so we chose 7 Pounds by Will Smith. I can't figure out the story at first and it's kinda boring but damn it was a really really good movie, same thing with Pursuit of Happyness. Movie was very emotional and dramatic and damn it almost made me cry. No spoilers but the movie was about a man changing peoples lives. Two thumbs up ^.^

* Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans

It's been a long time or I can say it's been several months since I watched a movie in a cinema theater. Me and my girlfriend decided to watch Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans. We watched it at Robinsons Galeria and ticket price is 180 bucks but I can say it's worth it. I've seen the previous Underworld movies which really amazed me, Vampires and Werewolves. Watched the movie at 7:40pm. No spoilers, I can say the movie was great, the effects and the story is good. The story is about the past, story about Sonja/SOnya and Lucian and where the vampire and wolves genes met. Movie is action packed and blood are everywhere so I think the movie should be rated R-13 or 18 maybe for some scenes as well. Well overall the movie was great and I gave it 8 out of 10 and I'm looking forward if there would be a sequel for this Underworld movie.
