* Kiefer Ravena Charity Game for Sendong Victims

01.06.12 | FilOil Flying V Arena, San Juan

My first sports event for 2012 and it's a basketball game. My first time as well to take a basketball game so I was so excited about it. The game is organized by Ateneo's #15 Guard Kiefer Ravena which is a Charity Basketball game for Sendong Victims in Mindanao, the lineup is consisted with Celebrities and Musicians like Gerard Anderson, Rico Blanco, Luis Alandy, Jose, Tado, Jon Hall and more and Collegiate players from UAAP and NCAA like Baser Amer, Kevin Alas, Sam Marata, Joshua Webb, RR Garcia and more. PBA Legend Allan Caidic and PBA MVP James Yap also joined the 3 point shootout where the Triggerman won the contest. It was an entertaining and fun game and it was nice that an event like this happened at the same time funds will be donated for our fellow Filipino who needs help in Mindanao.

Even had my Jersey signed by Kiefer Raven *jersey from Jerseyhaven

* Toycon 2011 (Day1)

Toycon is one of the most awaited toy convention in the Philippines every year. What's special this year is because it is Toycon's 10th year.

I did missed a lot of Toy Conventions recently like TAGCOM but I told myself I won't miss this one. The convention doesn't only involve toys but also cosplay competition. Entrance is 100 bucks per day and the convention is during the weekends, early bird tickets were sold Friday to avoid the long line.

I have work the previous night from 12am-9am so after my shift I went home and rest for a bit then went straight to SM Megamall. So far this is the biggest Toycon ever because they occupied 3 megatrade halls. I can say i missed attending conventions and I was glad I saw a lot of friends in the event. Alodia and her sister Ashley was also their in the Maxicollector booth to have a meet and greet with the fans. Toys for sale and customized toys can also be seen in the event. I arrived around 2pm and took photos of cosplayers, friends and also the toys. I wasn't able to buy a toy this year. It was a jam packed event and a lot of people came in the said event.

* DPP On a High 5th Anniversary

It was my 2nd time to attend a DPP event. I can still recall the event last year and it was crazy. Last year I had a shift the night before the event from 9pm-6am so after my shift I went to the venue right away which is Fully Booked Boni High Street. I arrived around 7:30pm and the line was long already and I think my number was 200+. Registration started 10am so all of us waited until 10am came and it was damn hot. So I told myself that next year I would prepare for this event.

A month before the event I already filed a leave for 2 days (The night before and the exact day of the event) I woke up 4am and left the house around 5:15am and I arrived the venue around 6:15am (phew I was early) and it's better this time because the line was short (maybe because I am early). I was able to see my friends in the event and I was able to attend talks from famous photographers.

I selected the following photographers

Andre Per Hoffman / http://www.pahof.de/ (Professional Travel Photography) - A German Photographer and was featured in Nat Geo and international magazines. Very funny guy and a very good photographer.

Manny Librodo / http://mannylib.multiply.com (When Travel Meets Fashion) - A famous Filipino Photographer who loves to travel and take photo of himself. Now he is one of the known Photographers in the world.

Raymund Isaac / http://www.raymundisaac.com/ (How to shoot celebrities and other headaches) - A Filipino photographer who is an expert with Fashion photography.

I was able to attend the live shoots and live judging as well. A very good photography event and I can't wait for next year.

* Playboy Philippines 3rd Anniversary

I was ask by a friend from Playboy Philippines to be the Official Photographer for the 3rd Anniversary exclusive party for Playboy Philippines. Event was held at Hyatt Hotel Manila and started around 9pm. Playmate Sky and Echo is the host for the event.

I asked my friend Vince to come along to help me to cover the event. Unlimited food and booze are served. Fashion shows, performance by PYT and the promotion for the next issue was also part of the program.

I had fun and with the event and happy to know that the photos will be published in the next issue. Thanks Playboy Philippines and more power.

* Philippine Fashion Week | Men's Wear

I missed the Philippine Fashion Week event last year and this time I told myself that I won't. I didn't receive invites through the mail this time but I was able to get 4 tickets for 4 shows from friends.

Only had 4 hours sleep because of work I went to SM Mall of Asia around 6pm to meet a good friend who also modeled in Fashion Week before and got my tickets from him for the Men's Wear fashion show Function Room 5 7:30pm. I went to SMX early because I was avoiding traffic because of the Justin Bieber concert in the SM Mall of Asia grounds. As expected different and fashionable attires everywhere. A lot of Photographers and personalities in the area. I'm really excited to take photos because I wanted to try my new lens which is my 70-200mm f/2.8 Sigma lens which will help me take photos better this time.

Line is already long for the show and it's only 7pm and I'm happy I was able to have a better position in the Photographer's area and had my monopod and my camera all set up for the fashion show. Fashion show started around 8:15pm and ends around 9:30pm. Anyways here are some of the photos that I was able to take in the Men's Wear fashion show and also a photo with former MTV VJ Sarah Meier

* FHM January 2011 featuring Carla Humphries

It's my second time to meet this month's FHM cover girl Carla Humphries. It was a good start for FHM Philippines to have a new cover girl and the FHM issue itself is very nice and classy. I can say that FHM magazine has evolved and ay time passes by it improves and becomes better that's why FHM is still the number one Men's magazine here in the Philippines.

Anyways back to the cover girl, Carla Humphries is a commercial model and actress here in the Philippines. She apperared in different TV shows like Berks and more, She also appeared in movies like First Romance, First Day High and more. Carla was really nice and I'm glad that I had my FHM copy signed.

* Meeting Ellen Adarna again :)

After 2 years I was able to meet Ellen Adarna again, thanks to FHM. Ellen Adarna's meet and greet was held at Robinson's Place Galeria Movie World and it's been months or I can say years since I saw the line that long. Everyone wants to meet Ellen Adarna who was before an internet celebrity and now everyone has a chance to talk to her and have a photo with her.

Event should start by 6pm but it started around 6:40pm but it was ok and it's worth the wait, when Ellen came there are I think 6-8 guards and looks like in a police or marine uniform but the good thing is they are not strict this time.

Had my chance and had my latest FHM issue signed and showed Ellen our photo together way back 2008 at Ascend and she was surprised to see it. Thanks FHM and Ellen Adarna for ending my 2010 with a blast, more power and looking forward for your issues next year :)

* Bumper to Bumper VI

This would be my first time to attend a Bumper to Bumper event. Recently I am back again with events and conventions, especially car events. The venue for the current B2B event is at The Fort, I arrived around 3pm and there's a lot of modified cars in the area.

I waited for my friends and they arrived around 3:30pm and we started taking photos of the cars and the models. Almost 100+ cars are displayed and of course a lot of people taking photos and checking out the cars and the models.

Saw Mr. Paeng Nepumoceno (Legend in Bowling) as well in the event and had a photo with him. I wasn't able to wait for the "Search for Miss B2B" because I still have work at night so after taking photos I left right away.

Jennifer Banquil

It's been a while since the last time I attended a car event and finally I was able to attend one of the major car show event in the country which is MAS (Manila Auto Salon/Mad About Styling).

I was able to attend the first and second day of the event, I saw familiar faces like fellow bloggers, photographers, friends, car show models and few celebrities and of course the customized cars. There's a lot of booths for car customization, car accessories, insurance and more. There's a lot of people who came into the event both Thursday and Friday and I'm very sure during the weekends as well.

* Haunting Pleasures: FHM Premiere Vixens Victory Party

Finally it's time to choose who will be the Ultimate Premiere Condoms Vixen. Event was held at LAX near SM Mall of Asia. It was down to 6 Finalist Paulene So, Sofie Garucho, Christine Marquez, Karen Bordador, Jahziel Manabat and Abby Poblador. It was my first time at LAX and I can say they are kinda strict with everything, they won't allow you to enter if you don't have an ID, DSLR's are not allowed and more. Place is kinda small for an event but for just a regular night out or party I can say it's fine. Event started a bit late and they had some games where a sexy dance contest for guys with two girls dancing with them, our friend Vince was really unlucky we all pointed at him and he was invited to join. Lucky he won because we are screaming "Take it Off" and the girls removed her shirt, unbuttoned his jeans and lowered it down and damn we are laughing and screaming out loud and of course he won.

Then finally the moment everyone is waiting for is the fashion show, all contestants who joined the search for the Ultimate Vixen was there except for Jem Milton. Kitty Girls performed and after that the finalist had a short sexy fashion show in their lingerie. The announcement of awards came and Sofie won as the most daring Vixen, and Jahziel and Abby won the sexiest curves. Now everyone is holding their breathe and waiting for the announcement of the winner, everyone was in shock when they announced that it was 3 way tie, everyone was like "What?" but anyways congratulations to the winners Christine, Karen and Paulene. Afterwards we went out and just hang out and grabbed some food at Shakey's Makati Ave. It was a nice and funny night and everyone went home laughing because of Vince.

* Run Rides Rave

Run Rides Rave is a whole day event that started with a fun run followed by a car show then bikini fashion show, a concert and a pool party held at Manila Ocean Park. Sponsored by the Philippines Number one Men's Magazine FHM this event was really successful despited of the bad weather. Ticket cost 400 bucks but the Fun Run and Car show part is free. Ticket entitles everyone to watch the show at Aquatica, two cocktail drinks, to watch the FHM bikini and fashion show and a live performance of Tanya Markova, EB babes, October 2010 Cover Girl and PBB Housemate Wendy Valdez and Letter Day Story.

It was like a soft opening of the Liquid Bar at Ocean Park, where people can drink, enjoy and get wet with the indoor pools. It was nice attending the event and meeting and seeing my friends enjoy the party.

* FHM September 2010 Issue with Bianca Manalo

Bianca Manalo

It's the "BER" month and FHM has a new cover girl beauty queen (2009 Bb. Pilipinas - Miss Universe) and actress Bianca Manalo. The September issue is a dual cover where Bianca is on the other side while Cesar Montano is on the other side. There's a lot of good interviews like the one with Senator Cheese Escudero.

The issue cost 150 pesos and it's all worth it, I like the photos of Bianca Manalo, the reviews and the other content of the issue.

The Autograph Signing for Bianca Manalo was held September 4, 2010 at Robinson's Movie World (6pm - 8pm). The line is not that long and I can say that the signing kinda sucks, until now I can't figure out not only me but other FHM supporters/fans why there is a need for bouncers (not one but two) in the event. They are so strict it's like we are at the high-end bar. To FHM staff if your reading this I hope you could make improvements with your autograph signing because those bouncers really doesn't belong there. There's a lot of signing that happened without any bouncers involve and it was fun and successful. They only allowed one signature at the cover of the issue which is fine for me. Hoping for more improvements and looking forward for the next issue.

* FHM August 2010 Issue with Priscilla Meirelles

This would be the first time that Priscilla Meirelles would cover for FHM Philippines. She already covered for other Men's magazine and finally FHM. Priscilla was born September 5, 1983 from Brazil and won the 2004 Miss Earth pageant held in the country.

The August issue is different from the previous FHM issues because of the 3D pages of the magazine. Photos of FHM babes like Angel Locsin, Cristine Reyes, Katrina Halili, Iwa Moto and more from previous issues were featured in the August issue in 3D and the issue comes with the glasses to enjoy and see the 3D effect in the magazine. The issue also featured the Premiere Vixens. The issue also has a gimik guide where the coolest place in the metro is located.

It's my 3rd time meeting Priscilla and I can say she's tall and she's really really nice as always.

* Playboy Academy Philippines 2010

This event was mentioned to me before by Playmate Sky during the Playboy Press-con last June. The event was called Playboy Academy, a fashion show event where the models would wear the Playboy apparels that would soon be sold in the Playboy store at Trinoma that would open soon and also the event is an inter-collegiate dance competion. Ticket is 500 bucks with free cocktail drink and a cool Playboy shirt (available in Green or Black). The event was held at Guilly's Tomas Morato and it was my first time at Guilly's, a lot of friends of mine are asking me to chill and hang out there. The event started around 9:30pm and the host of the event is Playmate Sky. There was a lot of freebies like Playboy dog tags, the paper weight glass with a Playboy logo (I got one) and magazines.

The fashion show was the first part of the event where me and my friends were able to take photos. After the fashion show is the dance competition with Celebrity judges and Playmate Echo Caceres and Dino Imperial, after a several performance the Playmate Sky introduced and promoted the latest issue together with Playmate Nhadz who is the current Playmate. Part two of the Fashion and then the continuation of the dance competition. The group from PLM (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila) won the dance competition taking home 20 thousand pesos and a chance to perform in the next Playboy event this September called Rock the Rabbit Year III. It was a nice event and we enjoyed it even though the rain was really hard outside the venue. Till next Playboy event :)

* FHM 100 Sexiest Party 2010

It's my first time to attend a 100 sexiest FHM party and a good friend Vince gaved me a ticket for the event. As expected there's a lot of people mostly guys are falling in line outside World Trade Center. We are able to get inside around 8:30pm. There's alot of booths inside for GBX, Premiere Condom, Citizen Watch and RRJ. Beers are also being sold inside 50 bucks per can. The set up of the stage is for me not that good because for us Non-VIP ticket holders we can only see part of the stage because photographers are in front of the stage taking photos. So what we could only do is just watch in the big screen, I didn't put an effort to take photos in front because it's kinda hot in the venue because there's a lot of people. Bad thing as well is two of my friends and I've heard other people including models had their fones stolen in the said event.

The show was fine and the ladies, models and celebrities walk and ramp in the stage. There is a magic trick performance which is also part of the show. Iwa Motto, Sam Pinto, Saicy Aguila, Premiere Vixens and more ramp in the stage and lastly FHM's 2010 #1 in the 100 sexiest women in the Philippines came from above the stage in angel wings non other than Angel Locsin.

Too bad I wasn't able to take photos during the fashion show but I was happy to see my friends in the said event, wasn't able to attend the after party at LAX because I'm also not feeling well. Hopefully a better stage set up next year. Congrats FHM :)

Together with the the July issue is the 100 sexiest list where Angel Locsin is back on top at number 1.

Sam Pinto

The autograph signing event of Sam Pinto is different this time compare to the previous ones, there's alot of fans who fall in line to meet her personally. With the management of FHM they only allowed a sign at the cover of the magazine.

follow her at twitter: http://twitter.com/pintosamuelle

* Unleashed: Digital Photographer Philippines 4th Year Anniversary

It's my first time to attend a DPP or a photography event, I joined the forum a year ago to get tips and ideas with photography and I can say I did learned a lot. Some of my friend are coming to the said event and I saw the program/seminars and the line up was really nice and take note it's free, all you have to do is to get the latest issue of DPP to get a pass.

my DPP ID

long line outside 8am

I have work the previous night so I slept for two hours and went to Fully Booked BHS, I arrived around 9am and the line was already long, I got my stub and my number is 242. Too bad some of the class that I wanted to attend was full but I was able to attend the other class as well (standing).

The registration started around 10am and when I got in they asked me to select which classes I wanted to join I selected Jo Avila's Light Painting, Raymond Isaac's The Real Approach to Fashion Photography in the Digital Age and LIVE shoot with Pilar Tuason. It was really happy I was able to have my lens and camera cleaned as well for free.

Lighting Painting is the first class I've attended and the class is about taking photos using flashlight as your brush or external flash, I've learned a lot with this class and planning to try it soon with my toys and action figures.

After the Jo Avila class we had lunch at Market Market then went back to attend other classes for Portraits by Pilar Tuason, Fashion by Raymond Isaac, Live shoot and the class with Xander Angeles. It was a fun and learning experience and at the same time seeing my other friends in the said event who are also into photography.

Live Shoot with Pilar Tuason
