* Moonstar88 UBE 2011 at Tomatokick

It's been 2 years since the last time since the Moonstar88 group meet up and early this month at the Moonstar88 facebook page we have decided to set a get together again at Tomatokick at Maginhawa St. in Quezon City. It was nice to see friends, food trip, booze and stories about gigs and more.

* Happy Birthday Bon of Moonstar88

It was my friend’s birthday Bon of Moonstar88 and he celebrated it at Capones Bistro (A.Venue, Makati). Moonstar88 and The Butchercons played some of their songs during the event. Happy Birthday Bon!

* Moonstar88 GEB 2010

It's been years I can say since the last EB for the listers and supporters of the OPM band Moonstar88 and recently we have decided to organize an EB so the originals or the long time listers would be able to meet the new ones so it's like a bonding thing together with the band. Original date was supposed to be February 27 but it was moved to an earlier date which is February 20 for some reasons. Anyways it was held at Tomatokick at UP Village, I arrived late (11:30pm i guess) and when I got there they are all in the studio and having an acoustic trip singing Moonstar88 songs and other OPM band's songs (Eraserheads, Truefaith, etc). After the acoustic session it's time to eat, take photos and drink. I can say the Nachos served in Tomatokick are the best (Nachos Nachos Nachos) and we drink a little because I still have work by 3am.

I was happy to see old friends that I haven't seen for years like the Bluewish Band (Marvin, Pia and Mark), Kawen, Angel and the other listers as well (JP, Jio, She, Tere, Kima, Kimie, Lani and more). Also the band itself and Thanks Pao for the food it was really delicious. It was really a nice get together event and looking forward for the next one.

* Tayo and Taumbayan, Tayo ang Pagbabago

I was just informed by a friend that there was a concert that will be held at Makati Ave. so I said I would try to go there to kill time. I was walking around Ayala and I was able to see my friend She and she that Moonstar88 is also playing in the said concert so we walked together to Makati Avenue. It was not an ordinary concert it was a people's tribute to CNN Hero Efren Penaflorida and at the same time people who will attend are ask to bring gifts, food and donations that will be given to the victims of Maguindanao Massacre.

The event was hosted by Jim Paredes and Mikee Cojuangco, her wife Dodot was there and Senator Kiko Pangilinan. There's alot of people in yellow who are watching the event. I've heard that they walked from the Ninoy Aquino Statue in Ayala Avenue from 3:00PM and went to Makati Avenue, concert started 5:00PM. Some roads are closed that caused a little traffic but everything is ok when we arrived around 7:30pm. I was able to take photos of Moonstar88 as they perform and I was happy because this was my first time to attend an event something like this from a far it was like a rally but it was not. Hope everything would be solved and justice would prevail in the Maguindanao Massacre.

* Converse Sale December 3 - 6, 2009

A yearly sale by Converse held at SM Megatrade Hall from 40% - 70% off. Last year I was able to go inside and check the items on sale and I can say the price of the shoes especially the famous "Chucks" are really really low compared to the mall price.

Moonstar88

Just like last year Converse has a mini-concert event where shoppers can watch it. For this year Moonstar88 played again together with Paraluman for day 1 of the sale (Thursday). I arrived late and I wasn't able to watch Paraluman but I was able to watch and take photos of Moonstar88.

Now that most of us had our bonus, I can say this would be the best time to shop specially for Converse fanatics.

* Moonstar88 at Mag.Net BHS

My friend Tere texted me the gigs for October and since my off is during Tuesday and Wednesday there is only one gig that I can attend which is the gig at Mag.Net BHS 10.14.09, I texted my friends to come and watch but there is only three of us came (Tere, She and Me). The three of us met at Glorietta then we went to BHS to have coffee first and chit-chat while waiting for the gig to start which is 10pm.

The gig is for a cause and there's 5 or 6 bands that perform that night. Moonstar88 sang 2 new songs, Migraine and my request Panaginip then Senti :)

I was really happy because they can only plau 3 songs and they still played my request as a birthday gift for me.

* Happy Friday | Moonstar88 at Saguijo 08.07.09

I wasreally excited for this day because we had a basketball game with our company and luckily we won against our opponent it was a close fight against the yellow team and good thing we are able to win. I was the highest scorer for our team and I was so happy. After the game I went home to rest a bit, went online to check my twitter and facebook account. I didn't sleep because I know I'll have a hard time waking up, I just endured the sleepy feeling and prepared for the gig at Saguijo around 6pm. Arrived at Saguijo around 10pm because of the traffic and saw my friends from the Moonstar88 Mailing List (Apol, Tere and She) I was able to take photos again of the gig. Went to Greenbelt after the gig and bought some coffee then went home around 4am and rest.

* Treehouse Productions Event at BHS 08.05.09

It was my off today and I was informed that Moonstar88, Hale, Mayonnaise and Hilera will have a gig at MAG:NET cafe at Bonifacio High Street. It's been a while since I've been to MAG:NET. Treehouse Productionis the one who organized the gig. It started around 10pm and ticket is only 150 bucks and 1 free drink. I was able to take photos of the event and listened to the music of the mentioned bands.
Saw Bianca King, Rhian Ramos and Heart Evangelista at MAG:NET and I was lucky to have a photo with Heart.The event ended around 2:30am and the last band that performed was Hilera, saw my friend Jobel who is the girlfriend of Hilera's Ivan. Went to Mc Donald's Greenbelt after the gig to eat then went home. I arrived in our house around 4am already.

* Dekada - Moonstar88 10th Anniversary

They started 1999 and until now peeps (including me) still loves and listens to their hits like Torete, Sulat, Bata, Sa Langit and more. I'm referring to Moonstar88.

I can say after hearing their songs way back then (high school I think) I suddenly became a fan of Acel, Popo, Bhert and Pao with their Popcorn album then followed by another good album Press to Play where I joined the band's mailing list, started to attend their gigs and meeting new friends (Moonstareros). A lot of things happened and changed, including the change with the drummer from Popo to Bon and change of vocals from Acel to Maysh. Then the 3rd album came "Todo Combo" which is also a hit with the songs Can't Stop, Panalanging, Tadhana and the band's favorite song and so am I "Migraine". Bhert (guitars) already mentioned to me around November that they are planning for an anniversary gig and it was held at 70's Bistro last February 23, 2009. The gig was called Dekada, the previous members are their Acel, Popo and Ten and they performed the hits and favorites (Torete, Bata, Fall on me and more). Gish performed (popo's band) and Acel's band. Moonstarero's old and new one's are present and some personalities like Jay of Kamikazee, Buhawi of PNE and more.

* Moonstar88 @ 19East Bar and Grill

Ever since I'm really wanted to go to 19East because I saw that the performers in the bar are all known and famous when it comes to thier music..Name it Mojofly, Freestyle and more. I'm always checking the moonstar88 multiply site for the bands gig and I saw they will play at 19east and the good thing is it's my restday. Together with mayonaise, itchy worms and two other bands Moonstar will play there. So me and my girlfriend decided to meet at Festival Mall Alabang to grab a bite then went to 19East. Place is really nice, free Wifi and ambience is good. We arrived early and decided to watch a movie in my Ipod to kill time.

Around 10pm we decided to go inside the music hall. Entrance is 150php which is not bad. We watched all the bands except for itchy worms because it's already late, I think it's around 2am already and we decided to go home. Glad to see my favorite band play again and I managed to take photos of them.

* Moonstar88 at Converse Sale in SM Megamall

I went to SM Megamall to attend the X-Mas Toycon of course to check some toys and take photos of the cosplay event. Me and my friend Mark decided to leave our things in the baggage counter on the supermarket area and when we are about to go down the escalator I suddenly heard the sing Migraine which is one of my favorite Moonstar88 hits so we went inside SM Megatrade Hall 3 where Converse is on Sale and saw my favorite band and also close friends Moonstar88. So I took photos while they are playing and also saw some of my Moonstarero friends who are also there to watch.
