* Cosplay Mania 2011

I was lucky to be given a Media Pass for this event by my friend Earl Manghirang who is a blogger for Flipgeeks. It's been a while since the last time I've attended a Cosplay event. Bigger venue and more cosplayers this time.

* Toycon 2011 (Day1)

Toycon is one of the most awaited toy convention in the Philippines every year. What's special this year is because it is Toycon's 10th year.


I did missed a lot of Toy Conventions recently like TAGCOM but I told myself I won't miss this one. The convention doesn't only involve toys but also cosplay competition. Entrance is 100 bucks per day and the convention is during the weekends, early bird tickets were sold Friday to avoid the long line.


I have work the previous night from 12am-9am so after my shift I went home and rest for a bit then went straight to SM Megamall. So far this is the biggest Toycon ever because they occupied 3 megatrade halls. I can say i missed attending conventions and I was glad I saw a lot of friends in the event. Alodia and her sister Ashley was also their in the Maxicollector booth to have a meet and greet with the fans. Toys for sale and customized toys can also be seen in the event. I arrived around 2pm and took photos of cosplayers, friends and also the toys. I wasn't able to buy a toy this year. It was a jam packed event and a lot of people came in the said event.

* Otaku Expo 2010 [day 2]

It's been months since I have attended a cosplay/anime convention and I have attend [day 2] of the Otaku Convention at SM Megamall. Entrance fee is 100 pesos which is ok and I am glad that the place is not that crowded compare with the previous conventions last year. There's a japanese/anime singing competion and of course cosplay competion. There's some stalls selling cosplay materials and accessories, toys, DVD, CD's and more. Alodia and her sister Ashley is also there, They had this Maid Cafe where there is no cameras allowed inside and there's a fee for having a photo opportunity with Alodia which is most peeps who attended the con thinks is not cool. Anyways I am happy to see friends (photographers, cosplayers and bloggers) in the said event and even saw DLSU's Sharon Yu. Looking forward for more convetions this year.

* My 25th Birthday | Collecticon 2009

2009 for me was really a blast, a lot of things had happened good and rough times especially when it comes to love. Weeks before my birthday came, I was thinking a lot on how to make it special and different, I thank God that he helped me because budget was short and a week before my birthday they offered OT's to the employees and I took advantage of it, so there problem solve :)

Previous years that passed I was always spending my birthday with a special someone but this year it's different, different but I was still happy because it's been a while since me and my family went out together. We had a family lunch at Gerry's Grill at Alabang Town Center and after lunch my brother (next to me) and my Mom went to Makati while me and my youngest brother went to Robinson's place Ermita for the Collecticon 2009 event where I was able to shop toys as a birthday gift for myself. I was able to buy the 5 shinkenger for 1,500 from 2,500 and a Figma Kanu Unchou from 1,500 to 1,300 so total damage is 2,800 which is not bad.

We arrived around 3pm, meet my friend Ralph and we took some photos of the toys. In the Maxicollector booth Alodia and her sister Ashley was there and we are able to have some photos with them. Cosplayers are few in the event and the event really focused on toys. Glad to see familiar faces in the events that includes bloggers, photographers, cosplayers and friends from forums.

Left Robinson's Place around 7:45pm and went to SM Mall of Asia to meet an old friend from PeopleSupport Sheng, just hangout at Starbucks and then went home.

I was really happy and overwhelmed from the greetings that I got personally, thru text and online on my birthday and people remembering it is already enough as a gift. Well my birthday wish is for a better and stronger me. Lessons have been learned in the previous year and there is still a lot of things to learn, I can say I am happy and contented and enjoy what I have right now. I'll focus on my work, sports and events. Now I believe that everything comes back to us (good or bad). I'm really thankful that I have God, my family and friends specially those who was there during the rough times. Hope on my next birthday it would still be the same as today, simple but happy.

* Cosmania 2009

I have work Saturday from 9pm - 6am and I was invited by my co-workers invited me to hangout in his new house and also for me to check his place and I obliged to join and stay till 10:30am. I got home around 11am and I am still sleepless, I feel sleepy and tired already and still went online to check my facebook, twitter, plurk and multiply account for updates. I rest for a bit then prepared myself and went to SM Megamall. I slept in the bus on my way to Mega, I arrived around 2pm and meet my friend Ralph in the megatrade hall.


We started taking photos of the cosplayers outside the megatrade hall because there is alot of them. Saw familiar faces and new ones for both cosplayers and photographers. I went inside and the ticket is 100 bucks, I can say well it's not that worth it because nothing much is inside, I was expecting for some toys for sale but there is only few booths inside, most stores are for cosplay accesories. The lighting inside is not that good so I need to use flash, alot of peeps inside as well. Cosplay games, events and booths inside. Honestly I enjoyed taking photos outside because of the light and there's alot of cosplayers outside than inside the megatrade hall.


Anyways I enjoyed every cosplay event that I am attending because I am a big anime fan, got to meet friends and also the toy sale. Left the event around 5:30pm becuase of the FHM event at Robinson's Galeria.

* White Hat Yogurt at Shangri-la Mall with Alodia and Ashley

I was invited by my friends and by Alodia in facebook to attend the White's Hat's August celebrity for charity event in Shangri-la Mall. It's promoting the White Hat Italian Frozen Yogurt and at the same time there is a mini cosplay event and it's for a cause. The event is from 1pm - 5pm but we arrived late because I have work the previous night and I watch UFC 102 first.

When we arrived I saw Alodia and her sister Ashley in the photo wall and photographers and fans are having their photos taken with the Gosiengfiao sisters including us, of course we had our turn. Saw some cosplayer and photographer friends in the said event. Even tried the frozen yogurt and I can say it was delicious. You can add up to 21 selection of fruits kiwi, strawberry, cheesecakes, blueberry, chocolate chips and more. I'm craving for more honestly, price is ok it cost around 100-200 bucks but the taste was great.

After the photo session Alodia and Ashley helped and serves the orders for the customers including us.

* Deathnote Photoshoot

It's been a while since I attended a cosplay photoshoot or even a fashion shoot. I saw my friend's multiply site that they are having detahnote cosplay shoot and I asked if I could join them. Luckily they included me as one of the photographers for the said shoot. Our location is at UP Diliman at QC, it was my 1st time to be there. I arrived in the place around 1pm and good thing they haven't started yet. Saw familiar faces (cosplayers and photographers) and also new ones. Our Deathnote characters are mostly complete (Light, L, M, N, Misa, The death Gods and more) We started around 2pm already and we ended around 7pm and it was raining. I still have work at night so I hurried and I was late for an hour. Our workforce analyst offered VTO's (Voluntary time off) around 12:30am and I volunteered. I had fun with the shoot and expecting for the part two.

* TAGCOM [day 2] March 01, 2009

March 1, 2009 and another cosplay and toy event to attend called tagcom at Robinson's Place Manila. I passed watching the Game 1 of the Uaap season 71 Women's Volleyball finals.

I arrived around 1pm and there's alot of people who attended the event that includes the cosplayers, shoppers, photographers and more. I was able to buy the Go-Onger Set at wasabi toys with 50% discount so I got the 5 figures for 1k, also got a Dekabreak 12 inches figure for 300 bucks only and lastly I bought two sentai DVD at CSCentrl (Star Ranger/Go Ranger the movie and Time Ranger DVD 1). i also took photos of the cosplayers. I'm happy to see and meet my photography and cosplayer friends in the event and also to take photos of them. Alodia was also one of the judge in the cosplay competion and she had a meet and greet event at Maxcollector booth. Glad to meet her again and her sister Ashley, happy to have my E-Games calendar signed as well.

I left around 9:00pm already because I still have work at 10pm.

* Tekken cosplay shoot at Rainforest Park Pasig

I was just invited to join the shoot by a fellow cosplay photographer Zell. It was a Saturday and call time was 10am at Gateway cinema area, so after my friday night shift I slept right away to get some sleep and set my alarm at 9:30am and the thing is I woke up 10:30am so I hurried to gateway mall. Glad they waited for me and there are some coslayers and photographers who are also late. I grab a bite at KFC first and then wait for the others, we take a cab and went to Rainforest Park in Pasig and it was my 1st time there, got lost because taxi driver don't know the place. When we arrived there we wasn't able start right away because according to the park's management we still need to get a permit and so Zell and Gian went to the city hall to get a permit for us to start the photoshoot.

Around 4pm we already started *at last, damn there's alot of people watching us and a lot of kids as well. Rainforest Park is really a nice place and it's a place to visit, too bad is far though. Shoot ended around 6:30pm and it's already dark and I still have work at 10pm.

* Pre-Christmas Cosplay Shoot | 12.23.08

It was my off and I was invited by my friend Kate to join a cosplay shoot in QC Circle, I was so excited because it's my 1st cosplay shoot. I'm not familiar with the location but I managed to find it. I arrived late around 3:30pm because of the traffic and I'm hesitating at 1st because it's raining every now and then during that day. So when I arrived I saw the cosplayers and there is only 2 photographers Gian and Alexiel. My 1st shoot was with Bou as Lacus Clyne *http://darkserenity.multiply.com below are the photos

* X-Mas Toycon and Cosplay Event

It was really a good idea that they organized another Toycon since X-mas is several days away and at the same time include a cosplay fashion walk for the event. Me and my friend Mark went to SM Megamall to attend the event at the same time check the toys and take photos of the cosplayers.

We arrived around 3pm and took photos of the cosplayers right away, meet new and old friends in the event. I can say there's a lot of cosplayers and it reminds me of Cosplaymania08. Meet our friend Jervin in the convention too bad he wasn't able to charge his battery for his DSLR.


About the Toy Convention, entrance fee is 30php but few booths compare to the previous cons. I was able to buy my Gekiranger toys which is on 50% off.


I still have work at 10pm so me and my friends just ate first at the foodcourt then I went straight to work afterwards.

* GDAP 2008 Cosplay Event at Crowne Plaza

It was just mentioned to me by a friend whom I met in a cosplay event so I checked cosplay.ph and saw that there's going to be an event on December 3 and since it was a Wednesday it only means I'm free because it's my restday. So I informed the event to my friends who would be intersted on it. I bought toki (my cam) and met my friend in the bus station and we went to Robinsons Galeria. We arrived early around 4:30pm I think.
The event would start 6pm so we stroll around and grab a quick snack because I am really starving. We ate at Sisig Hooray ^^ then meet one of our friend Jade their. We went to the venue at the Ballroom area of Crowne Plaza. Saw familiar faces cosplayers and photographers. Met some old friends and met some new ones. I took photos of the cosplayers. Neo Taku band also peformed and I can say I was impress with their family computer and supe mario jam. I'm in front of the stage so I have a good position in taking photos. Almost 30 cosplayers have joined and there are 3 winners (Best Female) is Tza (Best Male) is the guy in the red robot costume and the (Grand Winner) is the 7 ft tall cosplayer haha he's really big and also the cool smoke effects.

* Hataw Hanep Hero 2008

It was my first time to attend a Hero Con and it was held at Tiendesita Silver City Pasig. I invited my friends from CCC (Cavite Camera Club) Jervin and Miguel and we met at Robinson Galeria coz they don't know how to get there. We arrived around 2pm at the venue and bought tickets worth 100 bucks. A lot of people already outside the venue (mostly cosplayers). So we went in and get our cameras and started to make photos. There's alot of cosplayers, most of them are familiar faces and we met and saw during the previous scosplay events. Saw Tin and Ishi the cosplayers that we met at Cosplay Mania 2008 at Megamall and I can say they are an attention grabber, they cosplayed Shion of Haragushi as Mion and Shion. Met alot of cosplay friends that I met at multiply like Vampire Prince, Ian (from plurk), Zell (plurk) and more. While strolling around I saw my friend Doc Albert (worldofalbert) and Mark (markpogi). So we stroll around and took photos of cosplayers, I can say there's alot of cosplayers. I saw Shin Chan, Tifa, RInoa, Lenne, Chucky, Masked Rider Kiva, Super Boink and more. There's also booth's in the events (gaming, toys, cosplay and more). Alot of kids in attendance who really enjoyed the event specially Anime fans with their family. Too bad I have to left early because I still have work at 10pm and I wasn't able to watched Sugar Free perform :(

* Cosplay at Krispy Kreme's Halloween Party at Bonifacio High Street

I just saw the event at a friend's (Jobel) site at multiply and since there's cosplay and I'm going at Ascend at later that night so I took the oppurtunity to drop by and at the same time took pictures of the Cosplayers. Mostly are regular cosplayers from the previous cosplay events, I arrived almost 6pm due to traffic because of the holiday. Bonifacio High was alive because of the people and kids in costumes and also the events and parties everywhere.



Krispy kreme had a lot of customers and mostly kids, also because of the cosplayers. Jobel and her sister are in their costume (Supergirl and Ragnarok costume), Freddie, Wolverine, Batman, Spiderman and Joker are also there. Kids and families are having their pictures taken with the cosplayers.

Met several friends and hang out with Ivan (Jobel's bf) who is the bassist of one of my favorite band in Sonicboom "Hilera". We call it a day around 8pm and my friend Alex arrived also and took pictures of some of the cosplayers.

* Level Up Live 2008 | Day 2 | 10.19.2008

It was a Sunday and because of the things that I have to do I missed day 1 f Level Up Live 2008 at World Trade Center Pasay, Manila. We had a model shoot at Cavite so I wasn't able to attend Day 1 of the said event, so after my shift (9pm - 6am | Saturday)


I went home right away and prepared my stuff for Sunday's activities which is Level Up Live day 2 and our basketball game (Alabang Basketball League). I slept for two hours then met my girlfriend at Jolibee and bought food. Saw my friend Mark at the bus who is also going to the event but would meet her girlfriend first. We went to my previous dorm at Manila to get my rubber shoes that I would use for the afternoons game and went to the Level Up Live.



We arrived at World Trade Center around 1:00 pm and bought tickets for 50 bucks with free 50 pesos level up top up load, kinda disappointing because there are only few cosplayers comapre to the the last year's Level Up LIVE event anyways


I was still able to take photos of cosplayers and met some new friends. Saw some of my friends and a classmate there as well. Saw the creator of Ragnarok Online but failed to have his autograph T_T because of the long line. Saw alot of foreign Ragnarok players as well around who is there to compete for the World Championship. We left around 3:30pm, the time the cosplay would start =(

* Cosplay Mania 2008

Still tired and lack of rest from the Baguio adventure, we still managed to attend the Cosplay Mania 2008 at SM Megatrade Hall 3 at SM Megamall, Cosplay Mania 08 is on of the major cosplay events for the year so I shouldn't miss it.

We arrived around 12:30pm and damn there's tons of people already so we decided to buy tickets already which cost 10 buck per person (not bad). I think the location was too small for the event, there's a lot of people and it is very hot inside. A lot of good cosplayers are also there. So I didn't waste my time to use my Nikon d40 to take pictures of the cosplayers and the toys dispalyed.

There are also gaming booths and booths that sells cosplay accesories and costumes, there are also booths that sells toys in a reasonable price. A lot of cosplayers are there, I was amazed with their costumes and I know they put a big effort and money on it. I saw Ryuk, "L", Evangellion, The Akatsuki group, and the famous "Sailor Man" which really made the people laugh.

Around 1pm I saw my schoolmate Ace then my friend Miguel who are also into photography, so we strolled around in a bit to take pictures and decided to take our lunch in the food court around 1:30pm (before we missed Alodia)

So there 2:30pm Alodia arrived together with her sister Ashley in the Maxcollector booth inside, of course as expected there's a lot of people who wanted to take pictures and to meet her personally. Good thing me and my girlfriend had our chance to go inside and have a picture of Alodia and Ashley.

We continued going inside the hall and outside to take pictures until 4pm and decided to go to Robinsons Galeria for the FHM Event for October 2008

We came back at Mega around 7pm and still a lot of people inside so we just decided to take pictures of the cosplayers outside the venue and decided to go home and take a rest. Damn I was really tired and exhausted on this day with all of my stuff from Baguio with the pasalubongs and souvenirs. Thanks for reading ^_^
